If you dont participate youre not counted. When you choose not to care you are ruled by those inferior to you.

. We gave the 18 year old the right to vote. NOT many do. Most of the voters in this country are of my generation, the 40s & 50s. That is sad but that is how it is.I have heard young people say they dont vote because no one listens to them They are right, no one listens because no one knows they are there. The 30& 40 year old crowd dont vote because they are to busy working 1or 2 jobs & say they dont have time. But they have time to stop at the bar for a drink on the way home. Give up a drink & go into that booth & vote. I am Retired/ disabled but vote each time we have a election. I have been retired/ disabled since I was 39. If the young people are so concerned about their future then get out there & vote for the person who WILL listen to you & do something for you. I vote even though no one cares about us OLD people.

Because the people voted into office determine their future i.e. Bush' run up of a record debt. I will be dead and buried before it is paid off. They can participate first by becoming informed. Read many different sources of information, NOT JUST ONE1 Next become involved in the issues that are important to you, speak to your friends and neighbors about those issues. Open up dialogue, volunteer, and VOTE!

It is good that you want to. There is so much apathy in this country. Your government affects you life in so many ways. How much you pay for your car plates to reinstatement of the draft. If you are old enough to vote then vote. Educate your self on what is happening in the world...both sides ! Join a party rep/Dem/ Green/Independent. Get in touch with party headquarters and they will put you to work !
