My mom had that same problem and it really depends on your vision. If your eyes are bad but not horrible I would go with lasrer because you have a good chance of perfecting your eyes. If you are like my mom I would go with contacts because you never know if Laser surgeny is going to work. There is other surgeneries or instead of permantly planting contacts try some really nice hard contacts. Look for different surgeries and the best of luck!!!!!!

I've actually never heard of implantable contact lens. I'd go with the laser eye surgery.

The Lasik is better! I had it done and am glad I did. I think having the Contact Lens implanted is not only risky but can cause eye infections etc.

dear, let me explain you that there are NO any permanent CONTACT LENSES which are IMPLANTABLE.
Contact lenses are used extraocular (on cornea) which can be daily wear, weekly wear or extended wear contact lenses which are disposable and can be used quarterly, monthly.
Implantable lenses are called intraocular lenses which are implanted after a cataract surgery. We all have a crystalline lens in our eyes which is transperent. With advancing age it becomes opaque causing decreased vision. It needs to be replaced by an intraocular lens.
If your refractive error is high you can try laser surgery but remember it can not give 100% result always. If comfortable with a contact lens you can try daily disposable and change finally to extended wear contact lenses
Take care

This depends on the degree of refractive error. If it is much over 8 diopters of myopia, the implantable lens is required. Under 8 diopters, go for laser.

I wore glasses from 4th grade till I was in my mid-30's, then contacts for 12 years. I had lasik on both eyes last month, and completely recommend it.

I did however opt for the life time acuity plan, which will cover enhancements for the rest of my life, as the shape of the retina does continue to change as you age.

I was near sighted with astigmatism and chose to have one eye corrected for distance, and one for close up, called monovision.

laser surgery is NOT a good idea.
my friend had it once and now she wears sunglasses all the time because the light bothers her.

I did lasik and love it. I don't know enough about the lens implant. I'm just so happy to be able to see again!
