fender strats are going to give you a more twangy country sound of guitar. the gibson less paul is an all around type of guital that in my opinion is the best guitar ever built. i have 6 guitars and i only pick up my gibson when i want to play. you might pay a little mor but its worth every dime. check out my 360 profile.

A strat style guitar has a certain look. it looks like a Fender Stratocaster. There are TONS of clones and Wannabes out there. Fender even has it's own clone.. it's a "Fender" Squire.

If you're a beginner, a Squire strat is fine to start with. It's an adequate guitar for leaning, but not a real player's guitar.

the best kind of guitar to buy might depend on what kind of music you want to play. For general rock, it's a Strat or a Les Paul. For Blues, a Telecaster or a strat. for Country, a Telecaster. For Metal, a Warlock or a Destroyer. for shredding, a Jackson.

go to a guitar store and talk to the people there. Tell them what you want to play. Find a guitar that suits your style. Buy the best one you can afford. The better the instrument, the longer you'll have it, because it will be able to keep up with you as you get better.

Guitar can take a long time to get good at. Practice!!! it's the only way to get better.

Good luck!

Hello there, Go with which ever of those you like best. You are the one who is going to have to play it. Both guitars are about as good a the low end of the Squier line. Neither is a guitar that you will want to keep after you learn how to play. So, go with whichever you like. Most Strat clones are not made to Fender specs. That means not all parts made for Fender Strats will work on the look alikes. Of course Fender makes the Squier line close to its specs so that most Fender parts work on a Squier. The old Peavey Raptor and Predator were the best Strat clones I have come across. Those were the old ones made in the US. The new ones are just like all the other Strat look alikes, they are made in China crap. Frankly there are no bargain basement gems in Strat clones. If you want a good quality guitar, you need to pay the price. If you don't want to pay that much, you settle for the cheap, low quality made in China junk. Later,

Strat-style refers to a copy of the Fender Stratocaster guitar. It is the most copied guitar on the face of the planet.

Can I make a suggestion? Look around and find a guitar that every 7th guitarist in world DOESN'T play and set yourself apart.

The Strat with the familiar pickup arrangement tends to give it a more treble, lead like sound, where another guitar, like the Les Paul, has a more mellow and full tone.

a strat style would be a guitar with about the same shape. and 3 sinlge coil pickups. i play a fender strat, but another good guitar would be a gibson les paul.
