WHen doing a drive check he noticed that he was missing the following tihngs
ethernet controller
Audio controller
SM Bus controller
USB controller
USA controller
di you have any idea where he can get/download those.

I had this problem yesterday. I was able to solve it by downloading this driver...

The main problem is that although the Ethernet cable is plugged in, windows does not know how to use it. The driver will give it the instructions on how to use it, though different devices require different instructions. Hopefully this helps. Good luck.

Yeah most end users think they know what they are doing when they reinstall an Operating System. Your frined forgot to retain copies of the software drivers for these devices. Normally PC manufacturers will place a folder on the computer called drivers.
Your friend will have to at least get the Ethernet driver so that he can get the rest of the drivers from the manufacturers website.

he can;t connect to the internet since he's missing the ethernet driver...he;s gonna need anotehr compute rwith internet access...find his compute rmodel number and go to the manufacturer's website and find the drivers for what he needs
