Absolutely a manly man... I prefer someone who, by juxtaposition, makes me look and feel all the more feminine. If his appearance looks better or more fussed-over than mine, then I just don't feel sexy next to him. And I don't wish to be the high-maintenence type just to compete. A real man will be confident in his masculinity without that much primping and preaning, which, in the end, would only take away from his animal magnatism. It also leaves him less time to DO all the things that make a man attractive.

I guess I'd hafta say the manly guy, my hubby is a ringer for Santa, with the full beard/moustache and tummy., he's a little fuzzy which I like,..he also is a shower/Irish Spring/Right Guard deoderant/ Old Spice Cologne(my fav.)self manicured kinda guy.....I do his feet because he's diabetic and if the nails aren't clipped properly he can run into trouble, besides he needs his feet checked constantly for circulation, boo-boos to avoid a bad medical situation, he takes such good care of me so I try to return that as often as I can..

A mix of both?
I think the most important part to me would be that he's easy going and romantic... which is more on the "metro-sexual" side... but I want him to take care of things like the car :)
My man is a mix of both... but I think I'm kinda a tomboy-ish girl, so it works out well. I play computer games and drink with him... I don't mind getting dirty and I have more of a sex drive than he does... but at the same time I fuss about hair and makeup and I get emotional like most women do. He works on the car and does the mowing, but he also cuddles with the dog and brings me flowers, so...
I think a mix of both is best :)

I'd go for the more traditional hard working guy, than a guy that spends more time looking in the mirror than i do.
the weird thing is, when i was growing up i dont think any guy i knew (even if they were older) used hair gel or anything like that, now most guys do it.
I always thought a perk about being a guy would be that you dont have to gel your hair, do your nails, moisturise all that sorta stuff..... but now guys do that 2.

I think, I prefer a man who is well balanced. So a combination of both. A man who is soft, thoughtful and has a sense of style but, at the same time who is a mans man, you know a guy who works hard gets things done and is responsible. I think it's important and attractive to be all things to a women if she is all things to you.
Balance is key!

(Background is in the profile). My man was the traditional man you describe. He made every day a "new day" in the best possible sense. He had integrity, a sense of humor, and an overwhelming capacity for love. He was always ready to help when someone needed it and he always said I Love You before we went to sleep. As far as physical attributes, he kept himself in shape and made an effort to be groomed, but not in the fuss fuss way. He believed honest work is honorable-- blue collar, white collar, no collar. He was confident in who he was and in as much as possible a friend to all. He would have taken a bullet for me, literally, and the thought of someone loving me that much was, well, overwhelming. Those are just a few of things that were in my hardworking man. So, chalk one up for traditional.

Manly man definetly. If I wanted to hang out with a guy that does his hair and nails (meaning manicures not the normal trimming and cleaning) and has to primp then I'd just hang out with my gay best friend. I don't get the straight guys that act so prissy. It's not attractive in my opinion.

Manly man every time. I'm all for equality in relationships but I don't want a man who waxes his chest hair and files his nails. That's vile.

i prefer someone thats a manly guy. if i wanted a woman then i'd be a lesbian. its ok for a guy to have feelings and style, but if he takes longer shopping trips than me or if i have to hold him while he cries during a movie, then its not gonna work out.

well i like a clean fresh man, metro-sexuals tend to do what seems like girl things, for instance keeping their nails cut, using chapsticks, a metro-sexual in my opinion keeps himself up and cares about his appearance on the other hand my brother dont care. look at usher!!!
