I'm going to say maybe another 300-400 years, if we don't get our act together and start helping clean up the mess we made.

We have to get past viruses, asteroids and super volcano's. If we can do that the sun will expand to our position in 5 billion years. Not long after that the Andromeda galaxy will collide with the Milky Way galaxy.

assuming a giant meteor doesn't crash into us, the O-zone doesn't collapse, somebody doesn't start WW3, and the sun doesn't go super nova (which i guess isn't possible for our type or star) id say we've got at least a 8 billion years because that's when our sun should burn out. and it all gets better after Spock and his Buddy's come to party in like 100 years. (sorry had to trough that in there)

ok, I'm gonna be extremely optimistic and say that we might have 5 billion years or so, the Sun explodes around then.
Actually most species only last 3 million or so, maybe our time is up.
