They have corrupted the electoral process because Congress is so beholden to them for the vast amounts of money they give them for re-election. You don't bite the hand that feeds you and vote against the interests of that hand. It is a lobbyists job to make damn sure the Congressmen/women know EXACTLY what interests those are. Trust me, those interests are for more profits for the industries and corporations they represent.

Ok, I see there are no answers yet, so I'll give it a go.
The pharmaceutical companies charge an outrageous price
for their drugs, the insurance companies agree to pay it &
we are charged an obscene price for the insurance.
With all of this money, these companies can afford to
contribute to any candidate that doesn't try to put some
controls on these shady deals.
