its always better to give.I always feel uplifted when im able to give.Especially when the person is truly grateful.Like a stranger in the grocery store is trying to decide whether to put the butter or milk back the night before christmas, and her daughters worried about making daddy mad, slip her a few dollars and watch their faces light up,Or listening to an elderly lady tell me all her personal problems and thanking me for letting her vent because her family is tired of hearing her...uplifting.

I disagree. I think its EASIER and worse to give than to recieve. Think about it. How hard is it to give a gift? Not very. How hard is it to recieve a gift from someone else without giving them anything back? Much harder. Taking things is much more difficult than giving things. Plus, it takes more of a character to recieve a gift than to give one... the one giving the gift has all the power, the one recieving is pretty powerless. Giving a gift puts you in a more powerful position because you are making the other person a little endebted to you. It is much easier to be the one with the power (giving a gift and having someone endebted to you) than to be the one needing to appreciate and owe the other person.

I don't know about that one. I do something for my girlfriend, she gives me a beautiful smile and an amazing kiss. That's far better than anything I can give her.

To receive is better for yourself
To give is better for the one you gave (that) and also may have a feedback, so you can recieve, too and it would be better for you two.
So, "It is better to give than to receive."

well if you give, you will probably recieve something back and you'll feel good about everything, and when you recieve, you'll end up feeling happy, but you might also feel bad that you didnt give anything in return.

It is always better to be generous, the rewards far outweigh any gift you receive.
