How to add pieces of songs together?

like oif your making a dance routine and you need song pieces how to cut and paste the together anyone know how, or a program you can download to do it.

I used to do it with open-reel tape recorders. You could move the tape manually to the spot in the music you want to join to another piece of music, cut and splice.

(Sigh) Those were the days!

ejay is one for music. i don't know about dance routine. you might have to buy it. not sure if there's a free download.
