Too Lissa Rae: Honey, that's why I put the pronunciations in parentheses, and also, no one likes you.

Let me just say that I am a victim of the "unique" name situation and it is not a good thing. I'm in a career field where I am constantly introduced to new people, and I hate having to repeat my name over and over again because it's so "different". If you get a moment, pick up the book "freakanomics", there is a great chapter in there about baby names and the correlation between names and there mother's level of education. Also, the correlation between names and successful careers. Give her a name that when someone looks at her resume, they won't automatically assume she's from "the hood."

I agree with the guy who said Make a New List! Hiring people with really weird names is hard. Give her sweet or names and envision success and happiness for her. It is a real responsibility naming someone. I would wait til I look a baby in the eye and spend some time with it. See what kind of personality she has. The right name will come if you don't force it. Open your mind and take your time.

It's a very simple process of deciding really...

All you do is place Dr. in front of the name you are interested in, if it doesn't flow, then pick again. I can tell you that I would never take a Dr. Blaque seriously, but that's just me.
On the other hand, Ecstasy and Gyna are great names if your daughter is interested in a career in Porn.

You want to try something unique.. try naming her something that won't make you hate you in 13 years.

I'm sorry, but you have to think this through a little better. Do you really want this little girl to spend all of kindegarten just trying to learn how to spell her name? Not to mention the fact that she's going to be teased relentlessly.

Dude, I remember high school. The 'unique' name thing was a nightmare for those kids then, and it's gonna be a nightmare for your baby. I think you're forgetting how cruelly imaginitive children can be.

Also, I have to agree, try to think of something that is NOT going to make your daughter hate your guts.

Aleishania
Um, none of these are really good at all...Hungbus?!?! Really, My name is simple but unique...Lissa. Most people are Melissa or Alissa... People have a hard enough time pronouncing my name.... I couldn't even start to pronounce half the names on your list, honey. You have to keep your child's future in mind. Kids are mean and will twist a name into anything to tease someone. Don't subject your child to that. You can find a unique, exoctic name without pulling random tiles out of the scrabble bag...Good luck to you.

Kelander
Aleishania
Shanana
Anfi
Laoi (Lau-Ee)

Are the only names that are halfway decent from this list. All others are going to set that child up for numerous and mindless harrassment.

Sorry, I have to agree with the others, those names are BAD very BAD! Why would you name your child Wiirda. Do you want people to call her weirda? Come on. Try Abigal or Stacy or something that is a name.
