my son was asked to be on a basket ball team in speacial olympics and i was wondering if he will start acting like the other disabled persons on his team and i also was wondering what the bennifits and the not so good about it please help before i sign him up

i used to be a volunteer at the kids special olympics. your son obviously is disabled in some way. no he will not start acting like the other kids. some benefits of it are that they get to be around other kids with disabilities and they get to play in sports they may not otherwise be able to play in. the not so good is that there are some severely disabled kids on those teams and sometimes the kids see some pretty badly disabled kids. That sometimes hurts there feelings to see kids like that. I will always feel it is a good thing. A lot of those kids have forever touched my heart.
