I purchased a Power Player Video Game System from a flea market today, and it cost me $23.73 I looked at pictures of it online to make sure it was the same quality, and it is. I also read up on it, and it said I could play any N64, Famicom, or NES cartridge. I assume this applies for Perfect Dark. I searched for it on eBay, and it says an expansion pack is required for full features of the game. I don't know where I would put the expansion pack in the Power Player controler. I want to know if I still need the expansion pack for game play on the Power Player. Does anyone know if I can still play it on the Power Player? Oh, and when I say Perfect Dark, I mean the original. NOT Perfect Dark Zero.

You probably can. The expansion pak was a red graphics upgrade pak that you could buy and easily install in the original N64 to play games like Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, which had more complex graphics. Perfect Dark should not require it, as it was released before the expansion pak came out. Hope all goes well for you.

I wanted to add to this. After a little research, I have found that you COULD play PD with the expansion pak. It was only required for the "hi-res" graphics mode. So as long as you play in the standard resolution mode, you should be fine.

sorry to tell you that Perfect Dark (yes the orginal) WILL NOT PLAY WITHOUT THE EXPANSION PACK. When I first bought my 64 I told my husband to pick out a game he wanted in hopes he would try to understand my addiction. (or at least join in it) I didn't read the box before we opened it and it will not do anything more then power up and tell you you need the red expansion pack before it will play. Bought the pack and it worked great. really sorry.
