When is the best time of year to go whale watching off the coast of Santa Barbara? When I most likely to actually see a whale.

There are two windows of opportunity to see whales around Santa Barbara. During February, March and early April you can see California Grey Whales. From May to September you can see Blue Whales, Minke Whales and Humpback Whales. Occasionally, you can see Right Whales or Orcas. All season long you have an excellent chance of seeing dolphins, porpoises, seals and sea lions.

We went out of monterey the middle of march and had a great time, and even got the rare treat of seeing a pod of killer whales. If you want more info, check out this webpage
