Wow, they are both so differant. I have lived in both. Albuquerque is best in the fall for tourisim with the State Fair and the international baloon festival being in October. Their zoo,airal tramway, Aquairium and old town are all nice sights. ABQ is also about an hour from Santa Fe which is great for sightseeing. Detroit has a more urban feel and is great if you have any interest in the Auto industry. Detroit also has all new sports facilities, a fun greektown and has invested in revitalitising the central city. I'd pick ABQ between the two for a weekend getaway.

Well it's obviously cold in both places right now...but Albuquerque is a dry cold, and usually much sunnier than Detroit. Also Albuquerque has a southwest flavor, with a mixture of cultures and foods. As a Denver native who's travelled quite a bit in New Mexico, it is a land of enchantment!!

Detroit B....come in February....come down to plymouth road and greenfield where I work, and tell one of the locals you are a tourist looking for the sights, they will be glad to help you out.
