I think most, if not all, people are a combination of both. However, emotion seems to have the ability to overpower intellect in many circumstances.

I think that emotionality and rationality go hand in hand. I think you can be both and I think you can be neither, but I think it's best to be moderate. I don't think it's good to go on extremes. In Star Trek, the Vulcans were represented as the extreme side of rationality and Spock would be the symbol to show that both emotionality and logic are needed to form a good perspective.

In some political science, it seems that rationality is often attached to egoism, where only the needed is valued, whereas emotions are deemed as honourable, as in chivalry. The mayor of Tokyo recently said that "Japan must replace its logic-based culture with an emotion-based culture (see source)."

In either case, as I have already said, I believe that one can use both his intellect and his emotions to analyze or achieve a goal. For instance, one can use his intellect to solve a problem and then use his emotions as a mean to achieve the right motivation. Emotions can also be used to gain courage. Point blank, emotions are rational in their own sense, because they are there to serve a purpose. What that purpose is, depends on the person and the situation.

Some people let their emotions interfere in their logic and that's probably not a good idea. Now, as whether more people are more emotional than intellectual, I would have to say yes: they are. Here is my reason for it. First, our social life is influenced by emotions and we base our decisions on that. Love is much based on emotions. Our interaction with our family is also, for the most part, based on emotions. For those who work, it depends on what kind of job they have. If you work with people, you have to take in consideration both rationality and emotionality to succeed. Even when you should make pure logical decisions, emotionality may sneak upon you and you may take decisions based on what your emotions tell you. Favouritism among people is based on emotions and that is an everyday phenomenon.

Many prioritate based on emotions and not on what is perhaps needed the most. You may decide to help someone you can relate to, than someone who is in more need of your help. The examples are endless. Now, however, here's a tricky question: what is more rational? To promote a worker whom you know will do the best job or a worker whom you like best? The latter will cooperate better with you while the first one will do a better job. In this case, I think both choices are rational, because some managers prioritate better cooperation, as it raises the morale of the working place, while other managers prioritate efficiency.

they are both learned skills

first there are emotions u can't show because of good taste so here u are stuck with big brothers think tank

there are intellectual skills that are learned behaviorism's that can't be violated in application because of the norms

so either is a dead end, as far a truth in hidden curriculum

ppl are amade of both. they act as moral rulers forr ppl to judge things by

emotions are natural and intellect is inbred so lack of intellect makes way for emotions to take over.
sometimes it is difficult to se intellect especially in personal issues or ppl whom we know personally (like / dislike)

an intresting question would be to ask if emotions are beter judgement than intellect!!
