Hi music lvr,
This is a typical troll question, because the Windows nazis will tell you why Windows are the way to go and Mac users will tell you why Macs are better.
Me? I think that Macs are better. The Mac OS X is the main reason. There's no computer viruses for the Mac OS X. Yes, there are "proof of concept" viruses hacked by some anti-virus software companies, but these still require you to type in your administrative password first for it to install. They don't self-install like with Windows. In the last six years of Mac OS X there hasn't been one computer virus. You can't even say that about Vista, which already has some computer viruses.
You get what you pay for. I know that you can't piece together a Macintosh like you can with a Plug-n-Pray Windows PC, but you have less problems too. No worries about incompatibilities or if something blows up, what's the problem? The Macintosh just works. Plus, you are getting a bunch of extra hardware that you might not get with your Dell. I love my Macs SuperDrive and other extras that you don't get by going cheap.
There's a ton of software for the Macintosh now too. There's lots of open source and PD programs available; lots of Unix ports as well as the usual Windows ports made for the Mac. There's also the capability of running Windows natively on the newer Intel-based machines. Since the Mac OS X has a Unix kernel, you can also use X-Windows natively too.

I have only had pc's and I prefer them because they cost a lot less and most software is written for pc's. its too hard to do anything with a mac because you cant get the programs you need. the mac should have gone the way of beta long ago.

macs have less software and pcs have more but macs are more stable than the pc...it depends on what u want 2 use it 4

PC for anything.
