It hurts the first time, but you can tell them to be gentle. Here its anywhere from 20-35$ for your fingernails. But you have to go get fillins every few weeks. A fill-in is where they add more to the part where your nail has grown out.

Your mom is right.

Your fingers can cost $30 or more and I hate to think about your toes. They can hurt because the manicurists files down the first few layers of your actual nail. The biggest thing is that you need to have them filled in and re-done every two weeks or they look horrible. They can hurt if you accidentally hit your hand against a counter or car door. If the nail comes off on it's own it'll take a few more layers or your nail with it. Now THAT hurts like crazy.
In the end if you need surgery a Dr will make you have them removed.

Once you have them removed it can take 3 months for your nails to repair the damage done to them and they are very sensitive.

It depends on the person who works on you. Some people are ruff but mostly no it doesn't hurt.

If you get your toes done, don't get them long because when you wear shoes, it will hurt.

It costs about $30 dollars...to get a full set

A full set is when you get your nails on...and once you have them on, your real nails will grow that's when you need to go back in and get them filled (which will cost somewhere around 15)

Also your mom may not like them because after you get them off, your real nails are weak. If you already have long nails, I suggested you go in and get a manicure!! They will look nice.

Putting them on does not hurt, toes are not a good place for them unless your needing them for cosmetic reason such as a deformity. They will rub in side your shoes & probably hurt then. Your fingers feel strange for the first couple of days because of the chang, but you'd adjust quickly.. But if you break one it can be really painful. I lost my nail on my ring finger from breaking a sculptured nail.. But it grew back & I have had them again several times since then.

No it doesnt hurt. Normally, a full set flat rate is 20. Of course the price increases depending on length, design etc. After then to get a fill in, it should be around 13 dollars.

well for starters you can't get acrylics on your toe nails.. and no it doesn't hurt, it ruins your real nails but you don't plan on taking them off then thats not an issue...i live in newyork and a full set is 30 and a fill in is 17 but i don't know if it would be the same in florida....

the place I go charges 35 for finger acrylics and 50 for toe acrylics but unless you have a reason like ingrown nails on your feet you can just do a pedi and it looks good

Remember your feet are 5 feet from everyones eyes so if you think they are not perfect dont worry cuz no one else will notice

Pricing are different by locations not by states, so you will have to check places in your area.. Nails sometimes hurt if you can get them off but it doesnt hurt to get them done..

you shouldnt get your toes done , just a pedicure (as the above stated) and you can get a french manicure on your toes .

I had them before and I agree with your mom. Half the time when you go for a fill-in, they hurt you with their little drill, plus...when you decide you don't want them anymore, your real nails are ruined! Keep your own nails painted and filed and they will look nice without the expense.
