Actually no, I don't believe, or think, that getting married in Las Vegas is tacky.
I think the part that makes it tacky is how quickly you can get married there. You can do the same thing in Denmark, but it's much more beautiful. You go into a real old church, and it's beautiful.
My advice? Go to Vegas if you want...and get married because you love the guy/gal. The ceremony will always be special whether an Elvis dude performs it, or if your hometown pastor performs it. It's your own personal preference. It's the people, not the place, that make the memories.
One last suggestion...try getting married like by a fountain, or some historic landmark. Those are always beautiful.

Getting married by Elvis is tacky. But there are so many beautiful places in Las Vegas to have a wedding. The top hotels (Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn) are excellent places to get married if you can afford them. Also about 20 miles from the strip is Lake Las Vegas which is a beautiful wedding location.

It depends on how you do it. I have been to a couple of weddings that were very tastefully done with a ceremony in a hotel chapel and reception after. One had a sit down dinner served and the other had a private room at a nice restaurant.
I have seen some pretty strange and tacky things wedding wise in Vegas...brides/grooms/wedding parties in buffet lines, playing slots is a wedding gown, sitting at a hotel bar in a wedding dress. Things like that that in my personal opinion were tacky.
Even if you have a wedding on a budget in Vegas it can be tasteful.

I don't think there is anything wrong with getting married in Vegas. You can have any type of ceremony in Vegas. There are many different stand alone chapels and you can have anything from Elvis to a drive-thru ceremony. You can also opt for one of the many hotel chapels and have a more traditional ceremony. You might try checking out a book like "Neon Nuptuals" by Ken Van Vecten. He wrote a book reviewing Las Vegas wedding chapels.

Depends on the circumstances. If you're young and it's your first marriage, it does seem a bit tacky and sad. If you're older and been married a couple times before, Vegas is probably an appropriate way to go.

No, I got married in Vegas and there was nothing tacky about it at all. I guess it all depends on the people getting married and how they go about doing it.

No i don't believe of its tacky,I easily were to three wedding ceremony in vegas. My FH is leaving for Iraq in some months besides. We were planning a wedding ceremony contained in the Bahamas , then even as he got here upon out even as he change into leaving we had to regulate each little thing round and bypass up the marriage. it would want to be performed perhaps not as we had needed it inspite of the indisputable fact that the significant component that we are going to be married, and contained in the suitable thats whats significant. we've alot of friends that get married or bypass up their wedding ceremony even as they locate out even as they're being deployed. What alot of them are doing is having a very small wedding ceremony (or Justice of the Peace) and then have a huge classic wedding ceremony even as they get abode. That way they have an complete year to plot it. It also enables the bride to keep busy, so time is going slightly speedier.Cus it truly is a lengthy years in the different case.( it truly is our third deployment) strong success. and tell your brother thanks for all his service. I help the troops million cases over.

No, not at all! My wife and I got married their. The hardest thing to us was to find the right place to get married. They have the serious wedding to the funniest wedding chapels. When you get to Vegas get your marriage license and find your stye wedding chapel.
