I know what you mean, why do they make them so long.

I just went to the shoe store and bought some new shorter laces, but make sure you ask them what size you need, don't assume that the 8 eye-hole ones are the right size for your 8 eye-hole shoes.

If they are any good at what they do, they will be able to tell you.

Makes you feel like a clown with those big double knotted haging shoe laces, doesn't it?

Go to a shoe store and give them the shoe.
Tell them that you would like shorter laces and they can help you. Or call them and they can't put the laces on hold so you can just swing by anytime.

no because they might until when running or you might step on them while running. take them out and buy a different pair of laces. do not run with long laces, youre just putting yourself in a position to get hurt

If they are way to long just go buy some short shoe laces or just tuck them in.
Don't leave them long just in case you step on it and fall,
that wouldn't be good!!!

this is a serious answer and has been my way out for twenty years know first that the laces are man made fiber and can be burned off with a cigarette lighter and rubbed round in your finger to resemble the plastic end when it it hot enough to melt, if you don't like the finger burns then keep water handy when doing it works great with a little practice

Have you tried them on? That should be the best way to find out, see where your toe is compared the front of the shoe. You should have about 1/4 inch at the least and 1/2 inch at the most.

mine too! and it looks dumb when you have them regularly tied. i actually cut them shorter or if you want you can go but a shorter pair of shoe laces. i think they do that because they make one size shoelaces for all their shoes so they need to make them long enough for larger shoes.
