I have heard of many companies, but my husband says they have more problems and down time than they are worth. Is that true?

Most problems people have is during very windy weather & heavy snow. So it depends where you live. If you get alot of wind it can move the dish out of position causing signal breakups and you won't get a picture. Heavy snow can build up on the dish and block the signal. Wind should not be a factor if the technician bolted the dish correctly. There's no snow or heavy winds where I live so my DirecTV service has been excellent. I've had no problems so far. I've had it for 2 years now.

any satelllite company can have problems.90 % of them are due to installer error.Make sure you have a certified tech put in your dish and not some contractor working out of the back of his station wagon that has been putting up antennas and dishes "fer years".Make sure that they put your dish on a stable platform such as a roof or pole.Using approved materials such as a steel pole or mast and not a piece of 2 x 4 in the ground.Make sure they ground the system and have no connections that are not sealed from the weather.Barrel connections exposed to the elements are the biggest trouble call issue.I could tell you we are the best, but it all depends on the installer, all can work well if put in properly.
