Your question has many answers. You should check with your ob/gyn. My wife has very painful periods (dysmennorhea ) what we have done for her is we took 2 socks, put one sock inside the other. Fill the inner sock about 1/2-2/3 of the way with white rice, buy a cheap brand. After you have filled the sock, take a ribbon or string and tie the end of the socks tightly closed. Put the sock in the microwave for 6-8 mins or until the sock is very warm ( be careful not to burn yourself ) you can then use this as a "portable " heating pad. Just reheat as needed.

if a heating pad or hot bath don't work. Pills are great.. I used to use Advil but found Midol relieves the pain, bloating and blah feeling.
Increase calcium intake as well but pills do work quickly and effectively.

Ibuprofen.
Reconsider your stance on pills 'cause a few of those will leave you feeling good as new in less than an hour.
P.S. Ibuprofen's a muscle relaxant. That's why it works so well. And I swear by it.

Hot water bottle, hot bath - an orgasm stops the uterus from spasming - sorry not trying to be disgusting just stating a fact. Running or jogging - any exercise. Cup of tea
