I feared both as a child. My mother is catholic and was always telling me that God could see everything I did and that I'd be punished if I wasn't a good girl. I prayed all the time. If I forgot to raise my hand to speak in class I'd pray about it.
And I always had this fear that Billy Idol was going to come into my house in the middle of the night and murder my older brother. I don't even know why I thought this...

It's the saddest thing, I'd carry my pillow and blanket and sleep in the hall outside my brother's room just to make sure Billy Idol would leave him alone, but then I'd worry all night about the window.

That's a lot of information... and controversial. Are you looking for a debate or just generalized experiences?- either way, that takes a lot of guts on your part, thumbs up to you girl. Personally speaking, growing up for me was living with 4 brothers and one of them telling me that the boogie monster was gonna get me, and he was in my closet. I believed it too- wasn't until I opened it one weekend and found his porno mags. Go figure that one out. I don't believe that the deity of God is scary-perception is everything.
