they just only have 2 joints compared to the fingers

The thumb is not scientifically considered a finger. It's called something I can't remember, don't ask me why!

the connection of the fingers and the metacarpals are condyloid joints.

They are all phalanges. The thumb is in an opposable position allowing you to grasp things better, but it like your toes are all considered phalanges.
