Do you think Romeo (Romeo&Juliet) is a victim of fate or of his own character?

Oh, I hesitate to answer this. Romeo has always struck me as a hormone case and this turns out to be my least favorite play by Shakespeare. Falling in love is awesome. Love. Love. Love. And it is certainly an injustice that so many roadblocks are placed before our lovers. But I can hardly call Romeo a victim of fate when time after time it is his rotten choices that determine what happens to him.

Let's see. He sees a girl he knows his parents wouldn't approve of. He gets involved in a revenge killing. He leaves his new bride to escape justice. I think it is his actions that get him in trouble.
