The area of a rectangle is width (W) x length (L). In this case, L = 1.4W.

1.4W * W = 560
1.4W^2 = 560
W^2 = 560 / 1.4
W^2 = 400
W = 400^(1/2)
W = 20

We now know that W = 20, and L = 1.4 * 20 = 28

let a be the length, b be the width

a = b(1+0.4) = 1.4b
a * b = 560

a = 1.4b
1.4b^2 = 560

a = 28
b = 20

L = 1.4W
LW = 560
1.4W^2 = 560
W^2 = 400
W = 20
L = 28
