The other day I went shopping to Wal-Mart then Ikea and the employees were soooo rude! the cashiers are just hating their job and being so rude to me! i had a big smile when i asked an employee of Wal-Mart where this hall was and she was so rude when she answered me! lately every business i go to is like this! the employees don't even make eye contact with you anymore and they're mean and some even talk back to me! what is going on? i feel embarrassed to complain to a manager, i've never done that and i would feel uncomfortable! they're just being so unprofessional i don't know what to do; when i ask 'excuse me can u tell me where this and that is? i feel like i'm a huge bother by the way they look at me or roll their eyes or have a low tone of voice or don't even make eye contact! please help, i'm sweet and quiet but i feel terrorized by how rude customer service workers are to me. What can i do? what would u do if they were rude to you?

Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do beside complain and I doubt that will get you anywhere. Today’s society is a mean cruel place and manners are few and far between. Your best bet is to ignore it as this type of behavior is the norm today.

hmm there is one thing i suggest. try to go to the same shop at a different time, possbly at the start of the sift and compare the service then.

that should assure you that it is not something that has to do with you, it is not the character of the employee but it is the fault of the system

im a part time sales person and im sorry to say that at the end of my shift im often too tired to keep standing and sometimes i dont treat customers the best way i can. however i am y no means saying that im rude to them

and also by no means am i justifying their rudeness

Why? Human nature- and stupid customers. What is good customer service worth? Are you willing to pay a little extra to get it?

People aren't automatically polite, and without encouragement, probably won't be. Cheap help certainly is less attentive; better help gets better pay. If the customers continue to buy from stores with cheap help and poor service, the management sees little reason to change. Quit buying from places with poor service, or make a clear reasonable report telling them thye need to change.

Like it or not, sellers will sell what buyers will buy. YOU are the determining factor. However, it's like voting. One vote does not decide the election, it requires a major statement by a number of customers to shake the tree.

It's because the managers etc. treat people so bad.Even some customers come in to the stores and sets the workers attitudes moods off the wrong way. I use to work at Target years ago and I know this.

its because most people are rude to them, and they expect anyone asking questions to be rude. However, both Ikea andWalmart are more self serve stores than service stores. The staff are more like stock people than clerks. I used to work in a walmart, and havebeen spit on, hit and screamed at by customers who didn't get exactly what they want.

Don't fell uncomfortable or don't show to them that you are, because if you do they will take that to make you fell more and more uncomfortable. I like to go Wal-Mart and I don't care if they try to make me fell uncomfortable. Went I see people that are rude with other people and I aks them for something went they help me find it I don't say anything like for example THANK YOU.
