8 Mile because it's a rougher around the edges Cinderella Story. Spider-Man because it's a movie that Marvel comics fans had to wait forever to see, they had to wait through superman movies and television series, all the batman movies, a fantastic four movie that was never released, and even the x-men movie, all the while having various cartoon series. It was monumental, obviously with it's opening numbers that were just passed this year by Pirates 2. I'll just name the rest since that was so long, Grease is a great movie. Crash was a great movie with unbelievable star power, as is A Time to Kill. If you like lounge music or Bobby Darin, Beyond the Sea is good. Walk the Line is great as well for country fans or anyone who appreciates great acting.

The Rage in Placid Lake. It was easy to relate to, funny, and the characters weren't stereotypical.

Fight Club. I love the plot and the characters and the anarchism of some aspects of the movie. The best counterculture movie.

The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys. An unexpected favorite of mine. The story sounds kind of lame....but the movie is fantastic.

The Girl Next Door. The actual movie is much better than what the front of the case implies. It isn't raunchy, despite the subject matter.

good funny movie- airplane- everyone ought to see this movie at least once. its a cultural reference point, for one thing, & for another, it's enormously funny!
good girly movie- 16 candles- another one that everyone should see. sweet & romantic.
good guy movie- top gun- its got sex & violence w/o being obnoxious or unbearably male-oriented. & i havent met a guy who doesnt like it, & only one girl
good scary movie- any old scary movie is fantastic, if you're not put off by black & white.
good foreign movie- amelie. it's french, but w/ subtitles. trust me on this one. it's funny & sweet.

It's real old......But bear with me and watch if you dare.

"WUTHERING HEIGHTS" It stars Merle Oberon and Laurence Olivier..........Told you it was old.
I thought I'd never get into a movie like this ,BLACK AND WHITE , Love, ....jealousy, etc. I'm into action and drama.

The acting is excellent ....Olivier wasn't called the greatest actor of the 20th century for nothing......
