Elvis was only big because he kept making movies, even though he couldn't act that well, I think he's more of something like the Olsen twins.. certain people just like his movies, but he's not a great actor. If you want people who are good actors that sing, i'd say that Andre Benjamin from Outkast is fairly good, and DMX in certain roles. LL Cool J is pretty decent, but Ja Rule and Ice Cube suck. The movie wasn't that great but i thought Toby Keith did well in Broken Bridges.

Madonna has made a few movies, even though she is not much of an actress. Reba McEntire is a huge Country singer and has been successful on television. I thought Tim McGraw was actually pretty good in the movie Flicka and I liked George Strait in the movie Pure Country. Frank Sinatra was able to do both the music and films with a great deal of success. Elvis is still tops for me, though. I didn't care what the movie was about, just as long as I could look at him on the big screen for a couple of hours.

Personally, I liked Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin much better as actors than as singers. Just not my preference in music.
