I think you have to roll a double, not just in monopoly but in real life some people get to shorter sentence's. But if you looking for another way then you could try some of the idea's from the great escape, prision break, and if you are insane and realy desperate then try chicken run!.

You are playing Monopoly?

Rules are rules, you learn them through playing games. You can cheat, but then you face the fact that, even if you win, you never really won. You can sulk and stay in prison, but then you are only hurting yourself. You can have a tantrum and not play anymore, but all you get is that no one wants to play games with you anymore. You can play your get out of jail card, still be in the game and have some fun, you can buy your way out (How true to life is that!!).

Considering the game, if I landed in jail early on, I would buy my way out so I could snap up some good property, but later in the game, especially if faced with all the oranges and pinks having hotels on them, it is safer to stay in prison. At least I can rake in some money whilst the other players land on mine!
