I have a simon gift card (a card that can be used in any store at the mall) for $20..I was wondering if I can go to a store, buy something for over $20, use the gift card to get 20 dollars off that price? Or in order to use the gift card do I have to make a purchase under $20 in order to use it..

sorry if the way i said it was confusing..lol heres an example..
i buy shoes for $60, can I use the $20 gift card so I only have to pay $40?

thanks!

The $20 would go toward your purchase. You can buy something for $60 and then only pay $40. If you choose something under $20 some give you the cash or put it on the card what is left.

You can buy 60 dollar shoes and than take off 20 from the gift card and pay 40.

You can use your gift card for over $20 things. Then you just pay the rest with cash. Like if it was $25, you use your gift card and then pay $5 cash.

Yes you can do that. The gift card works basically the same as cash...If you use it all up, you just have to pay the difference between what the card paid for and what the actual total is.

you can buy whatever you like..if the price is under the $20 you will have money left on the card..if its over $20 you pay whatever the cost above the $20 is..

The store uses the 20 first and you pay the rest.

Unless there is some odd rule on the card. Yes, you should be able to buy an expensive item and use your gift card to reduce the amount you owe.

Yes, your example is correct. Conversely, if you buy something for under $20, they'll usually leave the remainder on the card, and advise you of the remaining balance.

Yes your gift card is just like cash, what is over the price you pay the difference, but be aware that if it is under the price say like $15.00 they won't give you $5.00 cash back, they just credit the card $5.00 No cash back restrictions
