If I remember my scales right, and it's been 20 years since I've played blues scales, the notes should be: E-G-A-Bb-B-D-E

Depends. Are you talking the G major CONCERT scale, or the G major for the saxophone? If it is G major concert, you'll be in E major for the alto. If it is the G major for alto (Bb for concert scale) than it is G. Google blues scale and you'll find tons of pages with the blues scale intervals and notes on it.
