Use of company provided password for company e-mail after quitting? Criminal? No contract given.?

I had a job and the company gave me a username and password. They never gave me a written contract with any rules that I signed. I quit and they did not turn off my password. Not till I looked for information related to my personal pay from the company e-mail. From other accounts with the same password. (company accounts) I did the looking from OUTSIDE of the USA....

If you think in any way that their server has not recorded your action, you are sadly mistaken. If they want to they will find out you accessed the server after quitting.
