(I posted this question already, I just wanted a little more inisight)
I'm planning on buying one, but I don't know what to look for. Any suggestions or recommendations on model types are helpful. Also, I don't have the time to find a teacher so I've been learning on my own. I managed to teach myself how to read sheet music, but some of it is still confusing. Any pointers on learning on your own are appreciated ^_^

I have a Casio WK1300 and I love it!

I think it depends on what you'll use it for and what your budget is, and how well you already play. The better you play and the more seriously you intend to use it, the more I'd spend.

For a basic player who is learning, I love my Casio because:

A lot of bang for 300 bucks

It has FUN rhythm/backgrounds to play accompaniment for

I got a sustain pedal to go with it, and it has headphone jack

It records multi-track and is MIDI interfaceable, and can be plugged into a sound board or amp.

It has 73 keys (acoustic piano has 88, which is really more than you need - but a lot of basic keyboards are too short)

If you have a couple thousand to spend, even if you don't play that well, you owe it to yourself to look at the Yamaha Clavinova. Also look into a class called Clavinova Connection, no matter what keyboard you get. Go to the Yamaha website and check it out.

I improved on old piano skills after I took up guitar. This taught me to use music books that have guitar tab above the staves, to play songs - I can't read music except sight reading to sing. The chord structure and progressions I picked up in guitar translated into my knowledge of piano chords.
