There's this movie that came out a couple of years ago about this couple that was lost in the middle of the ocean. It had the worst ending I've ever seen, and I can't believe someone had the nerve to even write such an ending. It was a serious waste of money...

Waterworld is horrid, that is true,

but the worst movie ever made is,

The Conqueror,

John Wayne plays Genghis Khan of all people, and as a HERO!
They put him in tacky tacky tacky Fu Man Chu make up and try to pull it off.

Susan Hayward, in all her redheaded glory plays a reheaded Tartar (i.e. Mongolian!!) woman who Genghis falls for...(not many redheaded Mongolians in real life, don't ya know.)

Agnes Moorehead (Endora on Bewitched) is Hunlun, Genghis' mom.

Pedro Armendáriz , Thomas Gomez, John Hoyt and William Conrad (later in Cannon) wind up playing Genghis' buddies.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0049092/

It is AWFUL. The casting is horrid, and the script is the worst sort of sludge to ever come out of a typewriter. Since it takes place in the past (even if it is MONGOLIA) everyone has to talk is some sort of King James Bible sort of language, so seeing John "the Duke" Wayne, saying things like "Come and take me, mongrels - if you dare. While I have fingers to grasp a sword, and eyes to see your cowardly faces, your treacherous heads will not be safe on your shoulders. For I am Temujin, the Conqueror. No prison can hold me, no army defeat me!" and "I feel this Tartar woman is for me, and my blood says, take her. There are moments for wisdom and moments when I listen to my blood; my blood says, take this Tartar woman." while wearing bad Fu Man Chu makeup... it is just hilarious.

Susan Hayward gets stuck with "The Conqueror? Mighty armies cannot stop him. But one touch of my lips... Yes, he captured me - but he cannot tame me. "

While Agnes Moorehead has to say "My son has won the world. Still he must conquer that red-headed Jezebel." (though how an illiterate mideval Mongolian tribeswoman would have heard the story of Jezebel is never explained).

I have seen better films left on the inside of a bathtub. Watch it if you can, and make sure to have some friends and some beer, it will be a laugh riot!

The sad thing is this movie probably killed about 50 people. It was filmed near the Nevada Test Site back when they sitll did above ground nuclear testing, and fallout got into the set. I've even read (follow the imbd link) that dirt (probably radioactive) was trucked back to Hollywood for filiming. In any case many people connected with the film got cancer and died later on. The fallout is suspected, but nothing was ever proven.

1984. I can usually sit through any movie regardless of how idiotic, boring, poor acting, etc. But this has got to be the absolute worst movie ever. I tried to watch it about 3 times and just couldn't bring myself to sit through it. It is god awful!

Ed Wood's movies are notoriously bad but at least they're lovable and entertaining bad and not vulgar bad. I think the worst kind of bad movies are the vulgar kind along the lines of Soul Plane and Bad Santa.

It's called Homeboy

I saw it like 4 years ago

I still make fun of my husband for picking it out

It is, without a doubt, the worst movie of all time.

I was gonna say "Plan 9 From Outer Space" or "The Ironbound Vampire" (Plan 9 w/o the charm) but on further reflection it doesn't get any worse than "Santa Claus Conquers The Martians". Go ahead, try to top that! :-)
