Why does certain music have such a powerful effect on us?

I mean, its amazing how like, just a simple song can have a tremendous effect on the way we feel......

Its just so interesting how, one little song, can completley change your mood and everything....i also heard it has to do with chemicals in the brain or something?

I think it's the words that have the effect. When you listen you imagine someone saying them to you or you saying them to someone else. And the dramatic music hits the right spot at the back of your neck and gives you tingles all the way down your back and goose bumps all over. I love a song that can do this everytime I hear it!

I think it depends on what's going on in your life at the time when you hear the song. You can hear a song several times and it doesn't effect you until certain things that may be mentioned in the song are happening in your life.
