The question can't really be answered in a general sense, because "meaning" implies different things to different people. Someone who was religious, for example, might answer that the ultimate meaning of life is your relationship with God. Others would find meaning in family, love, happiness, or success. A philosopher might say that the question cannot be answered at all because a vague word like "meaning" can't be used for an inquiry into life. For me, I guess the meaning of life is to find out exactly who I am and be at peace with that. It's to explore, discover, love, live, learn, and be a good person. To accept my limitations, but also fulfill my full potential without any regrets at the end of the day.

80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.
I've come to two conclusions recently:
1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.
First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.
Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.
So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.
To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.....

That is an age old question no one has truly answered for the masses. I think maybe everyone might be able to find their own answer if they look deep enough. Some find it through religion, work, having children and so on. In the end, I often think it is life itself.

A hilarious Monty Python movie....
Seriously? Who knows. My meaning in life is to live my life as an honest, charitable person, work hard and have fun. At the same time, be a good, supportive, nuturing father....

Everyone must discover that for themselves. The only way you will know is to rely less on the outside world, be patient, don't move, don't think, don't say anything, relax, be still, watch your thoughts, and meditate. Your intuition will eventually lead you to your meaning. This question you can only ask and see for yourself.
Intuitive knowing will lead you there. Anything outside your own mind such as drugs, prescriptions, mantras, psychologists, preists, psychiatrists, hypnotists, school counselors, parents, teachers, TV, sleeping, food and/or sex ------- will all lead you to the dark side of hell and satan. Good luck on your journey

"we may not all do great thing, but we can all do small things with great love"
be kind, be compassion to others, do the best to make difference to this world.

ck out my question, I ask similiar question few days ago.

Every person is unique and lives in unique circumstance. By doing what you -should- do, you can discover what your life can be at its fullest, whatever that may be. Obviously not everyone will be an astronaut or schoolteacher or president. What do you want?

Hmm...tough one...most would say 42, but when I calculated it, I got 1149290310 (don't ask).
Ok, seriously, life is meant for a reason which God alone knows. God Created life, only He knows for what purpose He Created it.

To take your own personal journey and meet people who change your life and you chage their own life either for better or for worse until that happier day comes knocking on our door.
