An astronaut's boots do not have to be especially heavy, but they do need to be airtight, and tough enough to stay airtight after a lot of walking.
You will not "float off" on the Moon, since the Moon has gravity. The Moon's surface gravity is 1/6 that of the Earth.

The Moon has 1/6 the gravity of earth, more than enough to keep the astronauts from flying off. The moon boots are durable but not heavy.

Considering that a human with all the gear probably weighs about 250 lbs. Do you really think the boots would aadd that much extra weight to keep them on the moon?
The moon has plenty of gravity.
They are heavy to protect from the extrem cold and to protect from being torn (which would kill them)

Sorta, because the force of gravity is very little. And even so, with the heavy boots they still float.
Beside you should know it YOU LIVE THERE!!!!!

They are so thick to withstand the force of the vacuum of space. The Moon has about one sixth that of the Earth.

They need them to protect them from the sharp rocks that might otherwise pierce their suit and kill them.
