I'm looking to purchase the nightmare before christmas dvd and would like to know which is the best one to buy for a collector? I've seen nightmare before christmas 1997, 2000 and deluxe set?
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. Also, any idea if the 3-D version would be released in dvd in the future?
What makes this movie so costly?

thanks

I've just dealt with this same dilemma -
My best friend is obsessed with the film and other Burton works.
When we were looking for the best version for a collector we settled on the Special Edition. It's over priced but included in the extras are cult favorites "Vincent" and "Frankenweenie"; two of Burton very early works, and in my opinion, his best. One animated, one live-action, both incredible.
For any fan or collector this is by far the version to have.

A true collector will want and obtain ALL versions ;-)
