The slow death that is cricket. Any game that goes on for three days and takes breaks to eat cucumber sandwiches is not exactly a thrill a minute.

I don't understand why people don't like certain sports but like others. However I think I can answer your question.
I used to be a cricket hater but now I'm a cricket lover. I used to hate it because it is extremely slow moving and to an inexperienced person, there is no skill that meets the eye. However, when a series like the Ashes is publicized like it was, you can't help but to pay attention and you soon start to appreiciate the skill the batsmen needs to hit a ball for a 4, 6 or any runs. I started to appreciate how a bowler has to always bowl straight or good balls because one bad ball can be hit for a six. And I also started to realise the different techniques of fielding, like how to stop a team from getting a four when the ball has almost hit the boundery rope.

West Indians don't eat cucummber sandwiches during the FIVE day matches or the one-dayers. Maybe you need to try coming to a game in the West Indies, or one of the other cricketing nations where it is more of a passion than a hob-nobbing elitist sport. Sorry, but the English have no passion!

Doesn't look like you are England. Cricket either goes for 5 days or 1 day. Now-a-days sometimes half a day.

Do you enjoy UK ? How can people enjoy living in UK ? The country is just lame.

Don't get me started, Cricket is good, so is soccer and football.

Come on!Cricket is the one ad only game that requires long term patience. In 5 day games patience is so important. Its not a game for people who cant concentrate for long.Oneday games are awesome and they are really interesting.
To play professional cricket you need good physical strength, concentration, corrrect techniques, patience, right shot selection to appropriate deliveries(variety of rewerswinging,spin..etc) and all the rest of it.Man its not just a ball hitting game.

U neeed a good brain to play dis game.We find basketball useless.

Get a life Cricket is awesomejust like soccer.

Every man is diff rent.you can't criticise the game if you don't enjoy it nor understand it. You don't see much guys playing or watching lawn bowls or curling do you. Cricket is not just a game. The atmosphere at the grounds ,the fans ,the beer chicks ,Richie Benaud also it healps if you support the best team in the world. Go Aussies !!

If you don't like it then it's your problem. Most people I know they like it very much even if that goes on for three days. By 'it" mean cricket of course.

Different sport appeal to different people. You can ask why do people like chess, golf, marathon running, cycling, swimming, baseball, American football.... the list can go on and on. But usually once you know the rules to a game it becomes more enjoyable.

It all comes down to taste. Why do so many people like country music? Get the drift...

there is a reason why this sport is among the top 3 'team' sports in the world.
