I love the environment and animals..what would be a good career in that sort of field?

I don't think there are any high paying environmental jobs. You could work for a zoo, which would probably have more fun involved. Or you could get a job with the state or federal department of environmental protection. I also believe chemical companies hire biologists to test surrounding habitats to ensure they are not contaminating the environment (probably the highest paying of the bunch). Why don't you try to find someone who works in these departments and see if you can go to lunch with them and pick their brains about your career options?
