As someone else said, I have also heard that the Mayan calendar ending doesn't really mean the end of the world, but rather a "rebirth" of a new time- whatever that may be??? I actually think about this a lot because I have heard so much about it. However, think about how many occasions in history that a very large group of people were convinced that the world will end, and here we are, still truckin along! Maybe the Mayans just got really tired of making the calendar, so they decided to just quit, leaving everyone to think the world will end. I have also heard people talk about aliens coming on that date in 2012. Whatever, I wouldn't sweat it too much- although I am not gonna lie, when December of 2012 rolls around, I'm probably gonna be feeling a little nervous!

I have heard different ideas about what will happen in 2012.

1. the world will end - I dont think so

2. on 21dec2012 aliens will show themselves - we will see

3. world war 3 will start - I can see that happening

4. the world will be shot into a different reality - maybe there will be a new drug in coca cola

5. we will reach a higher level of consciousness - Dont think everybody will make it

6. a planet will cross out path - didn't they show something on discovery about that

7. a new star will be seen in the night sky - but only if we turn off the lights

8. man will be on his way to mars to live - isnt nasa up to something

and

9. My child will be at a University in England/Usa or italy.

And if I looked further in the web I could probably find hundreds more, but I have just given you the ideas that some of my friends have.
So you see everybody is expecting something else. Its going to be a big surprise.

Hope to see you there in 2012

I'll be 47.

Nothing else matters

Oh theres the insignificant matter of the Olympics in London, and them wanting to use Earls Court for the volleyball at the same time as the Great British Beer Festival has the hall booked.

According to the Mayan calendar the 5th world will end on 12/21/2012 and the sixth and final world will begin. It doesn't necessarily mean doomsday, more like the final rebirth.

There will be no paper money in the United States. Many of us will be living on interplanetary space stations. The Mayan's Sun calendar tells us December 23rd, 2012 , will be the end of the world as we know it!

They say the worlds going to end, but even with the theory of global warming, theres almost no chance of it happening that quick, and the mayqns predicted it, but that also predicted a terrible world war that would blow a whole in the reath in 1976

Well, that's like, 5 years away, so why worry about it now? The world could end at any time really. The mayans could have been wrong.

Maybe we should ask Pat Robertson. He's been talking to someone who claims to be God. I wonder if he has the right number or if they're really prank phone calls? I wonder if Madd TV will do a parody on him? Is there any nursing homes in heaven?
