This is the bad fortune of Volkswagen owners. The days of dependable German machines is gone. I had a Jetta('89). After three years, one thing after another started to go. There was another guy at work, and the same things, at the same time went. I think they call it "planned obsolescence." Since all of the parts are made in Germany, and have to be imported, there is no cheap VW garage. It costs as much to repair a VW as it does a Mercedes. You'd be better off to trade it, perhaps for a newer VW. Your problem is probably with the wiring. Tracing a problem in the wiring can cost you a fortune if they don't find the fault early on. I'd have to know where you lived in order to recommend a shop. After the warranty is off, never go to the dealer.

Dont take it 2 a VW garage, try find a reasonable auto electrician, there are guys out there who will do a good job 4 u at a reasonable cost. I have just switched on and I am sure I know ur prob because someone else had same prob, just have 2 put my thinking cap on. U can ask around VW garages as I feel this prob is a slight common prob on Passatt. Check ur fuse box 2 see if all 3 use same fuse., if not are they pretty close 2 each other? check it out first and give me a call back and let me know.
