I got a robe for Christmas, and I don't get it. I wear it.. when? It's made out of a soft felt, but when I put it on when I get out of the shower the felt gets all wet and uncomfortable. Who has the time to wear these things... What do you think of when you think of robes... I don't think I'm gonna be in a porno any time soon.

I too got a robe for Christmas. It was from my mom, but I'd never used robes before. After opening presents, I took a shower and put it on to make her happy (I didn't want her to think I didn't like it, you know?). But I didn't put on as soon as I got out, cuz that would've felt uncomfortable like you said. So I dried myself off with a towel, put on my bra and undies, and then towel-dried my hair really quick. Then I put on my new robe, and it was kinda nice. I could go and pick out my clothes without having to hold up my towel, and if I wanted my hair to dry a little longer, I could hop on the computer for a bit and not have to worry about my towel falling off. I thought it was pretty convenient, and now I use mine nearly every day.
P.S. And no, I've never been a porno lol

i usually put my robe on while I am doing make up. Usually a few minutes after I have come out of the shower and dried off with towel. Not as bulky as walking around in a towel. I also use mine if somebody comes to the door and I am wearing pjs or something. just to make myself more decent to the person at the door.

Soft robes (like the one you got) are for a few minutes after your shower, after you body has dried. Otherwise as you stated they get all sticky and make you feel hot and icky lol. I have two robes actually. One is made out of the soft stuff and the other is made out of a towel like substance. I put it on right as i get out of the shower. It absorbs just like a towel and acts like a robe.

Since it's made out of felt, it's going to absorb water (as you've discovered) and get stiff, so maybe it's not meant to be a bath robe. Perhaps it's meant to be worn as a jacket, like for spring weather.
