I'm finding a real problem getting jeans or trousers that fit does anyone know of a site or shop that could help. i have a size 8 waist and size 10/12 hips and all the trousers/jeans i buy look really baggy at the top and fall down to my hips lol i cant wear many belts because i'm allergic to most metals and when i do they have to be pulled in so much it looks silly. Any constructive help would be good

You have a few options: you could either buy jeans that fit your hips and have the waist professionally tailored, or you can click on the links below to see some websites that offer a "make your own jeans" service--you tell them your measurements, and they make pants to fit your body. It's difficult to find jeans from stores that fit your unique measurements because such jeans are mass-produced and aren't really meant for people who don't fit their norms.

Lands End custom clothing.

They allow you to have up to a 15 inch difference between your waist and hips. Even one mm more than that, and you are out of luck. But if your waist and hips are only one size different, you will probably find when you take your measurements that you squeak by. Couldn't have anyone breaking the body rules, could we?

I have the same problem. I have just found that some stores cut their clothing more for a boyish shape, while others cut for a curvier shape like ours. The best advice I can give you is to start remembering what clothing shops you can and can't shop in. And as for belts, just buy belts where the metal doesn't touch your skin ?

Buy a 10/12, and take them to a tailor to tailor the waist to a size 8.

Have you tried petite size 10/12, would they be a touch smaller on the waist? How about a scarf type belt instead?

It isn't always easy buying clothes off the rack. I am a big fan of What Not To Wear on TLC. Stacy and Clinton always say to buy something that fits in the largest spot and have it taken in my a tailor. I realize this isn't the most economical way to handle your problem, but clothes will be made to fit you.

I would say keep trying. I have the same problem. Go to a store with a TON of selection... Macy's, Nordstrom, even Marshalls if your looking for cheap. Eventually you will find the perfect fit!

It sounds like it would be easier for you to get pants that have a lower waist, so the waistline falls more around your hips. That way, your waist won't have anything to do with it.

would it not be easier just to buy hipster jeans ... as your complaint is that they are too big around your waist but fit around your hips ... problem solved :D ... therefore you wont have to worry about trying to find a belt that you are not allergic to
