I can't imagine anyone over the age of nine going to CC on purpose...You can stay at an inexpensive hotel on the strip with out being tortured "see Stratosphere" ..The Sahara,Tropicana or Frontier would be better.

"What it's like" > old, rundown, and cramped come to mind.

Aloha from Down Unda!
All the major hotels in Las Vegas have a standard tradition: Pick a theme and 'do' it to the MAX!
If you've never been to a circus, it's gonna be difficult to describe. If you've attended any circus anywhere, you'll find that Circus Circus even has the 'aroma', built-in pazzaz and swinging trapeze! Fun for kids of all ages, direct your attention to the center ring for another spectacular attraction 'under the big top'.
Like the rest of Las Vegas, true amazement! Disregard any 'naysayers' & recognize the splendid display of 'top' quality entertainment, food & facilities. [Some A. H. would bawk at being hung with a brand new rope!]

Nope - as this didn't have enough attraction compared to the other things that were musts - after doing all of the searches for info.
There are many deals at expedia.com and travelocity.com
lasvegas.com

There are casinos everywhere - so don't feel you have to lose all of your money at one location.
There are roller coasters on top of tall buildings.
There are white tigers on the first floor side area of the Mirage.
There are outside shows at Treasure Island.
Gambling:
There are many where you can lose $50 without even trying, then win $10, then win another $50.
It's easy to lose $100+ a day minimum, so if you're smart
you'll back away if you lose $20 - and try your luck another time, or another day.

Best location, and I stayed there January 2006, was the Mirage and it's next to Treasure Island, across from Venetian Grand canal, and down the street are Bellagio and the Eiffel tower.
You can walk everywhere, or take the bus when your feet get tired (very cheap).

Don't forget to lunch at the Eiffel tower - pricey but great, great food, and across from the fantastic Bellagio fountains that have themes - yes dancing fountains w/music when you're outside to hear.

Lunch also at the revolving restaurant -where you can see all of Vegas during the day - THE STRATOSPHER. The food was magnificent and you can see if you go at lunchtime - where the people of Las Vegas live and the mountains that surround it.

Las Vegas - I saw Jay Leno and he was non-stop for 1 & 1/2 hours of jokes, and we got the last 2 seats in the far section, and it was still somewhat close because the entertainment area was well done!

We went to see Mystere show - and the best is called "O" which means water in French. The stage actually opens for people to dive into, and then closes for people to walk on it.
So amazing.

At the end of 7 days, I was ready to come home. It's exciting, but not enough to say, wow someday I'd consider living there.

GOD bless us one and all, always.

I dont know your age. Buf, if you're an adult - avoid it at ALL COSTS!

Check your cancellation policy. The place is just laced with kids, strollers, baby's crying, etc. The casino has no ambiance, or even ole las vegas 'feel' to it. It's rundown.

If you're a child, however, you'll probably like the free circus acts, the carnival games, and then the adventuredome (an indoor theme park with rides, etc).

The hotel rooms are very basic. They are also run down. They are clean & you'll get what you pay for. But, nothing else. You should expect to see trays of un-eaten room service food lining the hallways (for 10 consec. hours) before someone picks them up.

The location of the CC is 'so so'.

I have visited LV 20 times in my life... and, now LIVE here. I've stayed at a lot of places.

The consensus (spell?) of our online web-forum is that Excalibur and CC should be avoided if at all possible.

If you are going with children, Circus Circus is a lot of fun. As a kid I would always ask to go there. The best part is probably the Adventure Dome. The arcade is old and always crowded. The rooms are old and need updating. It kind of reminds you of a low budget motel. The buffet sucks! Casino is just that, a casino. For and as an adult, the casino is probably the best part of the entire hotel.

You'll probably like it until you've stayed at one of the better hotels. The better strip hotels will make you look back on circus circus as dirty and crowded with irritating kids and redneck families.

I went to Circus Circus when I was little and I hated it because it was very crowded. I haven't been there since but my friends who have tell me that it has become rundown...... it's alright, I guess, but it's definitely not my favorite.

It's cool to go in and watch some of the acts for awhile and if you have kids there are arcades and things for kids to do but I would never think of staying there. It's dirty and smelly. I felt like I needed a shower after spending and hour and a half there.

Very busy casino with a very youthful patrons. Definatly good for the frugal budget. If your looking for of an adult themed vacation I would recommend the hotels at mid strip...

The times I've been there it was packed with kids.. probably because of the "circus" theme ant the uber low rates, making it more affordable for families.

I would *personally* avoid this hotel, but your mileage may vary..
