Math is conceptual. You will understand it only when you can "see it". Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are easily modeled, using blocks, sticks, etc.

Algebra and geometry are also able to be modeled - thats why every teacher of these subjects says "DRAW A PICTURE".
That's time consuming, though, and the goal of the student is to get the answer, not to understand the question; and that is the real problem.

No skill is mastered without practice. No one picks up a guitar and wails out Freebird. No skateboarder has not fallen 1000 times. No water skiier has not swallowed 10 gallons of water through his nose. You must decide to be good at it before you're going to get good at it. And wishing isn't going to help.

Make every effort to understand it. Ask questions. (The only stupid question is the one you don't ask). And when you get it wrong, do what the skateboarder, the skiier, the guitar player does: Do it again and again until you do it right.

if you musical in anyway, then try rythems. play sport, then for every point you make, do a math probelm over and over. do things you enjoy while doing math, so you learn to enjoy math.
most importantly, give yourself credit for your sucesses. Enjoy!
