It should not have been deleted as it is a legit question. First, I will speak from experience and intellieget. I grew up dirt poor and yes our property liked maintencace as my parents property before.

Looking from a psychological standpoint and socilogical standpoint. This was the way they behaved as they were taught this was acceptable in there social group and class. Although the house was not that nice, I know where your coming from. Why did they stack thinks on the lawn such as scanvengers? Because in any social group and subsocial group, they behaved as taught and within there intellect. (They could have easily had the things removed but saved them, just in case they needed a spare part from that item, which they never did) But regardless there was 6 push mowers. 3 washing machines and etc, scattered in vairous locations on the lawn.

Embarrasing but true, I have grew above this thanks to education and teaching and yes they have also with some financial assistance of new appliances and equipment and less worrying if something broke, could they replace it.

It very much was social and psychological issues. (needless to say, it was embarrasing at times as a child that knew better, but they provided me with my basic needs, food, clothes and Love so I do respect them for that)

I think to answer your first question, it is because it was so obviously biased. Poorness and the lack of money has nothing what so ever to do with sloppiness. I know a lot of people that might be considered poor that are cleaner that any rich person I know. You were deleted because your question was thoughtless and other wise mindless. It's about time that we stop putting people into stereotypical categories

Maybe because that is not all completely true. Maybe you are around the wrong people, and those would be the people that just don't care. I grew up very poor and my Mom was one of the cleanest people I had ever known, and her oldest sister who is very wealthy and could afford a maid had the most dirty house I had ever seen. I think you stereo type people, and your question should have been removed.

I know some people who would be considered poor and keep their homes looking nice both inside and out....I also know several people that have the money to keep their homes looking nice and choose to live like pigs. It is, I believe, a matter of pride in your home and yourself to keep your property looking nice and inviting. It costs a lot of money to keep your house landscaped and beautiful, but no one rich or poor should live like slobs.

They're usually overworked ~ working long shifts, multiple shifts, slave shifts, and they have to come home and tend to the kids and the rest of their family. They only have so much time and energy to spend on cleaning. Maybe you could do something about it. Either gripe and complain... or help.
