Acer Laptop BIG problem.... please help.... please?

hi, i have an aspire 5100, and it has a big problem. >< it has an integrated microphone built - in. but it is not working well at all. i have to be in like almost kissing distance in order to make it to work, and the recorded sound is like a "DISTORTED COMPUTER FEMALE VOICE". this is the biggest problem for me.......... so i thought the built-in mic has a problem, but then i tried a working microphone, and i connected it to my laptop, the recorded voice is still a distorted female computer voice the only difference was the built in microphone was much softer. is anyone also having the same problem as me? only im the only unlucky one, i've has some issues with this laptop earlier, but when i bought it, i jux never tried the mic until now. So please give me some useful advises. i've already tried a lot of volume and the microphone boost and stuffs. plz help me... thank you for everything.

If you have a separate audio driver install it and if that does not work reinstall everything. I think Microsoft Windows XP does not allow installation of this driver unless you install the Microsoft QFE patch. Good luck!
