I am considering moving to a larger place and wondered how the people, nightlife, cultural aspects, etc would compare. I like Tallahassee but am looking for something a little more on the move for a 30-something single professional.

Raleigh is not bad, plus it is close to Durham and Chapel Hill, also great places for single professionals. The Triangle (Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill) is a beautiful place. If you are considering moving there, don't overlook living in Durham or Chapel Hill...the traffic is better and they are slightly more charming and less crowded (but very close to) Raleigh. Plus, there are tons of hiking opportunities in Durham if you are into natural trails.

I lived in S.Florida and Raleigh, both are OK and good points. But nightlife is pretty dead in Raleigh. Mostly family oriented and big into church functions. Good luck in your search :) ...and try to visit a place 1st, before you move.

Yeah Raleigh would be the better place but even Raleigh is just alright.
