So now the debate between me and my boyfriend reaches the outside world. Who is simply more awesome? Alice Cooper or Metallica?

Oh and I prefer Alice Cooper but I thought it might affect the answers so my boyfriend told me not to put it but he's given up on that now. Hehehe, silly man he is. I shall have to poke him, then run away very quickly whilst laughing insanely.

For me its Uncle Alice, dont get me wrong Metal Lica are good in there own right, but where is the live stage show. Alice is a showman not just a singer plus he aint gone out and ruined his songs by touring with a damned orchestra.......what was that all about Mr Hetfield???

I Think Metallica would beat alice Cooper I am a huge fan of both of them put metallica seems to have more to it's music then most alice cooper songs, if you really want to find out take Metallica's "Master of Puppets" and compare it to Alice's "Billion Dollar Babies" these are the best albums from both artists But I have always felt Metallica is better.

From a musician's point of veiw i would say metallica are far more skilled and "better" than alice cooper, even though alice cooper is more "famous" or commonly heard of.
I also prefer Metallica's image of rock and roll party lifestyle to Alice Coopers anitsocial, teen age rebellion, almost gothic image.

Both produce good music in their own style, but in my opinion, based on personality and who is more awesome, it would be Alice Cooper. Alice Cooper is just a nice guy who appreciates his fans and puts on a nice show. I think Metallica's egos are getting far to big... (this coming from a Metallica fan)

Although they both currently suck, I'd choose Alice Cooper. He was at least badass back in the day. Metallica, on the other hand, only has 2 good albums. Their first two, "Kill 'Em All" and "Ride the Lightning" are great...everything after that was just pathetic.
Both pale in comparison to the likes of Iron Maiden or Testament.

MetallicA definatley. Alice Cooper puts on a front, and it's all an act. The make-up, the props, the illusions, and the content of his songs. Metallica doesn't rely on that sh!t. They're just about the music and don't feel like they have to put on an act to satisfy their fanbase. Don't get me wrong, Alice Cooper is awesome, but he doesn't compare to MetallicA.
